"The long and short of it: This three setting Shower Diverter Handle Control with rough-in valve allows you to create a custom Delta Shower system. The Diverter Valve sits in between your main shower mixing valve and your peripheral shower systems. The diverter, acts as you might suspect, to divert water. It must be paired with a normal shower valve to get the water to divert. With this diverter, you can have a shower system with a normal Shower Head and a Handheld Shower. Or maybe you would prefer another configuration, like a Ceiling Mount Shower Head and a normal Shower Head. The diverter is the key to powering these shower sprays. The different settings allow you to choose which sprays will be on at any given time. With 3 settings you have 2 individual positions and 1 shared positions. This means you can run either shower spray individually or both together. The choices will depend on how you have configured your shower system. This fixture includes the Delta R11000 Universal Diverter Valve. This Shower Diverter Valve features one inlet and three outlets. The inlet supplies the Diverter with water from your main Shower Valve. The three outlets are used to supply peripheral shower systems with mixed warm water. All three outlets are used when installing a Delta 6-setting Diverter Trim Kit, allowing for three shared positions and three individual positions. This Universal Diverter Valve also supports Delta's 3-setting Diverter Trim, in this case only utilizing two of the outlets (the third is stopped by an included plug). The 3-setting Diverter Trim allows for two individual positions and one shared position. The Diverter Valve is Universal so it can support any Delta Diverter trim.
